doughnut french toast

hello everyone! today's menu is doughnut french toast. actually i'm inspired from Nigella Lawson's doughnut french toast. it's a toast which tastes like doughnut! hmm, i like it, so much. hehehe. it brings me some taste of my country's famous doughnut, J.Co's glassy doughnuts.

so here's my recipe of Doughnut French Toast..

Doughnut French Toast

2 eggs
4 tsp vanilla extract
60 ml fullfat milk
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
4 slices from a small white loaf, cut in half
25 gr or more butter, plus a drop of flavorless oil for frying
50 gr caster sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon

direction:
  1. mix the eggs with milk, vanilla, and ground nutmeg in a wide shallow bowl.
  2. soak the bread halves in the eggs mixture for a few minutes (2-3 minutes), set aside.
  3. heat the butter and oil in a frying pan and fry the egg soaked bread until golden and scorched in parts of both sides.
  4. serve the bread in a plate scattering with the cinnamon and sugar. you can also serve it with your favorite kind of jam.

i like this simple recipe. nice for breakfast. but it contains a lot of fatty! haha. i can't eat this too much since it makes me full quickly. anyhow, i LOVE.LOVE.LOVE this recipe so much! :))
