coconut and mango jelly

hi everyone, i'm posting another simple dessert today..
aah, i am having my exam this week. i am exhausted and really want to fast forward the time to mid-July. i have many plans in the kitchen, i want to make this and that but can't find the time in the middle of these hectic college subjects. thankfully, yesterday i can find a short break time, so i ran to the kitchen, opened my refrigerator and looked for something that i can mess up with. haha. i found agar powder, mangoes, and coconut milk. coincidentally, i have a recipe which needs 3 of them as its main ingredients.

i got this recipe from Dessert Magazine #14. the conclusion i get from this recipe is, sorry to say but to be honest i don't really like it. i don't like mangoes with coconut. i prefer eat them separately, i love them just the way they are :)

i also think the amount of sugar inside isn't right for my taste. not sweet enough. i don't know is it perhaps because i add some water into the mango juice to achieve the exact measurement. just taste them people, you'll find your own taste.

noodle loaf

actually, i regret i missed last month's MasBar event. the theme was egg, quite simple though but i couldn't find any recipe that best suites the theme.. hehe. and for this June's edition, we're cooking with noodles..

i like noodles, me and my family, all of us love noodles. fried noodles is the best one, i guess so. but i'm not going to make fried noodles this time, i made noodle loaf.. i've been keeping this recipe for quite long. i just never find any occasion to cook this. i got this recipe from the internet, from a food-blogger by the time i haven't blog. honestly, i really did forget where exactly the blog is, i'm so sorry. i modified this recipe.. cut down the recipe as usual and add another ingredients. tasty enough for me, but not for my little brother. he thinks it should be more tasty.

this is one quite simple recipe, it actually uses egg noodle, i just used instant noodles. you know instant noodles have its own seasoning inside, i add them all. just choose the right flavor to enrich the taste of your loaf.

lemon madeleines

hello again! i'm sorry for not posting anything lately.. i have some excuses though. hoho.
reason number 1: is because i'm not in the mood for baking in the first week of June, i did go to the kitchen but for cooking, i made hakau with a little modification but it's still not really worth to report. haha. i'll try again later with a better shape.
reason number 2: to be honest, until now - the minutes i write this post - i still unable to make muffins. my muffins never rise. so by the 2nd week of June, i was practicing about making proper muffins. result is still F for fail. i am giving up for now until the end of this month and i'll try again next month.

and now, i'm back! yay! i made madeleine today.. why? because i just found and bought a cheap madeleine mold. i quickly grabbed it when i saw it. hoho. in the madeleine mold's shop i also found many many cute friendly-price props and i'm letting my self to buy them. see the red-heart saucer above? that's new! hehe.

madeleine, according to wikipedia, is a traditional small cake form Commercy and Liverdun, two communes of the Lorraine Region in northeastern France. madeleines are very small sponge cakes, with a distinctive shell-shaped depressions. aside from the traditional moulded pan, commonly found in stores specialising in kitchen equipment and even hardware stores, no special tools are required to make madeleines. a genoise cake batter is used. the flavor is similar to, but somewhat lighter than, sponge cake.  i have been interested with this cake since i first read and saw it in Kitchen Princess comic book. they look cute and thankfully i have recipes of various madeleines in my golden cookbook. so i decided to make one of them, the lemon and lime madeleines..
